Bios

It would take a book to give a full account of Anne-Louise and her alter ego Aunt Lena. To make things a little easier for you here are three bios of different lengths you can use in your promotional material or media programs.

Anne-Louise Sterry (249 words)

Anne-Louise Sterry is an internationally-known speaker and award-winning recording artist, author, singer-songwriter, and master storyteller. Unfailingly positive and empowering, Portland-based Anne-Louise brings energy and rare authenticity to her audiences. She performs across America and Europe in concerts and keynotes in person and as her alter-ego Aunt Lena, an amalgam of all of Anne-Louise’s exuberant Italian aunts.

As Aunt Lena, Anne-Louise shares a thought-provoking and hilarious approach to living life audaciously. She not only brings smiles to peoples’ faces, but goes a little deeper with her cutting-edge Mediterranean wisdom to make a real and positive difference in their lives.

Anne-Louise has a background in psychology, nursing, education, and performance art. She is a member of the National Speakers Association, a board member of the Oregon Chapter NSA and Tele Seminar Chair for the NSA Storytelling PEG. Anne-Louise is a member off National Storytelling Association, the Children’s Music Network, the West Coast Songwriters Association, Portland Storytellers Guild,the NW Association of Book Publishers, Willamette Writers, past member of the advisory board for the Clackamas County Arts Alliance and has taught storytelling for Portland State University. Anne-Louise also is an active member of the  North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce as well as the Canby Chamber of Commerce

She hosts two shows on The Women’s Information Network. As Aunt Lena she wrote the book “Aunt Lena’s Cucina,” and is the co-writer of the award winning theme song,“This Is Our Time” for International Women’s Day 2011. She has recorded and produced six CDs music and storytelling CDs, and her CD “Making Ravioli” won the 2003 Children’s Music Web Award for Best Spoken Word Recording for Older Children.
